I, too, am curious to know if there turned out to be something in Maui that you might be able to recommend. For the last 6 months or so, I've been searching for a farm and/or sustainable living community to volunteer with in Maui. I tried contacting a few places but one wasn't taking anymore people on for the year, and the other never got back to me.

It really doesn't even have to be Maui - I just want to find a nice place that's off the grid and situated in a less densely populated area, somewhere over there, and with people that can truly teach me a lot about permaculture and growing my own food supply.
